 I am definitely new to the radio biz. I have only been a dj since September 2007. I am a lifelong resident of Keene, so I have been a KNE listener for as long as I can remember.
I always thought that it would be really fun to work in radio, so when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance. All I have to say is that I was definitely right about it being fun. It is a job that totally utilizes my personality traits, which is nice if you can do that. I have always been very talkative. I think that the only things I ever got in trouble for growing up were either talking too much or having my music too loud. I am also well known among my friends and family as being a "fountain of useless knowledge", especially that of the pop culture variety. It might sound like an insult but I don't take it that way, because it definitely comes in handy. My family and friends would always joke that it would be awesome if I could find a job where I could put all of that to good use. I am pretty sure I found it.
When I am not working, I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. We love to play games and just relax. I am a VERY competitive game player though. That "fountain of useless knowledge" thing comes in very handy. I also enjoy working on many different types of art projects. In my spare time, I have a part time business where I paint children's murals, sculpt and design pregnancy belly castings and make custom baby bedding. |
